The first game of the season ended in a 1-1 draw as La' Spezia came back in the second half to earn a point. Both teams played the game with intense pace and AMK R drew first blood as their striker managed to slot home after some mix up at the back.
Tackles were flying in every part of the pitch. Slowly La' Spezia managed to find their feat as the game wore on. There was lots of neat interplays between the players but the only worry was that they could not breach the AMK R's defense.
Second half they started to be more direct and started to control the flow of the game. 5 mins into the second half they drew level with a fantastic effort from the Vikram. The left winger cut in from the left to unleash a dipping effort into the top corner. The spezians continued to press forward but could not get another to show for their efforts. The game ended at 1-1 which was probably the fairest result. But they showed they are a better side then the previous season.

MoM : Ravi - Put in his best performance under the new management. He was a constant thorn to the opposition throughout with his directness and pace. He was hardworking all the way running back to help defend several times.

Post-Season Training
Hey guys, this Sunday there will be training at hougang punggol cc field. Be at the field at 2pm, changed.
Every one is expected to bring along $10 and their own drinks. All players are expected to turn up for training. Players are to expect a heavy training session.

CFL Round 15

It was La' Spezia 's second game under the new management. Fresh from a 7 - 2 drubbing over Yishun CC team last week many fans expected another huge scoreline on the cards but it was not to be. It was totally the opposite.
They started brightly putting the opponents under pressure in the early minutes. After a series of Corners and Free kicks one finally paid off, when Aravin's free kick was brought down by Sara who laid it for Siva to toe poke it past the on rushing keeper.
They were not particularly playing awesome football after that but they managed to keep probing the Prisoners defense. And they doubled the score in the 32 min with Prasad heading home from 2 yards from another set piece. Prasad was having an awesome game till then. Sweeping everything in front of the defense.
Second half everyone expected La' Spezia to gain more control over the game and put it to bed. But they did not. They failed to play with the usual pace and struggled to find the rhythm, especially in the center of midfield. They could not create any clear cut chances.
The strikers both disappointed putting some flashy moves together but to no great use. Even then they still had the upper hand. They continued to push forward in numbers but suddenly a quick counter by Prisoners left La' Spezia open at the back. Aravin brought the striker down outside the box and from the resulting free kick Prisoners managed to score.
La' Spezia had to fight on when their center back Aravin went out injured , and they held on for a scrappy win.
The La' Spezia team was given a hairdryer treatment due to their lack of urgency to kill the game off. The manager thinks it could have been a different result if they had played a big four team. They now have completed their current campaign and can now look forward to a few weeks of rebuilding and training to get themselves back in good form for the start of the next season.

Expectations
Hey guys i, Aravin, am going to be the one in charge of the team from now on. I am taking over from Jag who has done a fantastic job with the squad. I would like to thank him for all that he has done for this team and he will be always a part of us. :)
Future plans
La' Spezia is starting afresh thus, you all may wonder what is our goals and future plans. This season i have targeted a top 2 finish. And i hope to concede the least amount of goals in the league.
Secondly, i am also planning to get new home and away jerseys for the new season. Me and the other committee members will try to get them in a month's time if everything goes to plan.
Thirdly, i want to groom all the young players this upcoming season because most of our senior players will be serving NS next year. So all the younger players will surely get to play a big part in our season.
Lastly, expansion of squad before the opening game. I Viknesh and Vinod are already planning to bring in a couple of new faces to the team, 1 or 2 players at most. I don't wish to bring in players after the season starts and sign too many as it will disrupt our momentum.
Playing style
First and foremost , if we don't concede we don't lose. So defence will be vital to our plans this year and i also consider Arvin has the best keeper in the league thus i want to have as many clean sheets as possible.
I will also adapt a quick short passing game to maximize the speed in the team. Keeping possession is the main aim.
I want each player to show the desire to win every time he steps on the pitch. That will be vital to our teams cause.
Team selection

Friendly at Yishun Ring Field

La' Spezia travelled down to the north side to play a friendly due to the game against Prisoners being cancelled off last minute. The squad was also planning to start afresh with a bang.
Apart from missing some key first team players, La' Spezia's play was very positive and one that would improve in the near future.
It was a return for Sathiya and Kavin. Sathiya was pushed into the makeshift defence and Kavin was given a start in the left wing after a long layout. Whereas stand-in Captain Vinod, in place of Captain Viknesh, and Manager Aravin rallied the team.
Their first goal took some time to come, but it came in a familar play, from a corner kick specialist Aravin. Niresh headed the directed ball from Aravin towards the net but the keeper was there to push it away. Luckily it felt straight to Niresh, just enough for him to stir the ball into the net to put La' Spezia ahead. Good goalkeeping, possession and slack finishing saw them not adding to the tally before the break.
Being inspired by the half-time talk by Aravin, La' Spezia continued to attack their opponents. The second goal soon came off from a excellent switch play from Aravin to Siva. Cutting and passing it first time, the ball fell for Sara just at the centre edge of the box. He then curled a first time shot into the top corner giving the keeper no chance at all.
Vikram, a young prospect of La' Spezia, added his name onto the score sheet. A neat play down the right flank saw him put a deflected goal into the net.
Sara got his second goal and the team's 4th of the match. A excellent run down the flank and cross my Vinod, saw him heading the ball into the far post. He is indeed turning out to be the striker La' Spezia always wanted.
Quick breaks from the opponent saw our young keeper, Arvin, to be called into action. 2 excellent one-on-on saves in quick strives showed his quality. Another young prospect to watch out for. Stand-In Captain Vinod added in the the 5th goal of the game through a scramble in the box, volleying it into the net.
Vikram added his second of the game. Controlling a through pass from Niresh, he jinxed pass the last man and slotted the ball home.
A penalty was awarded to the opponents when Aravin brought down their striker in the penalty box. Our young goalkeeper could do nothing about it.
By then, the match had been overwhelmingly one-sided, but there was still time for one last goal from the boys. Niresh controlled and passed the ball to Jordan. Running up the flank with the ball, he passed it to Siva's right. Faking the defender, he cut passed him and shot in a left footed shot.
The opponents scored a last minute goal from a counter attack. It left the boys surprised. Nevertheless the game ended 7-2, the win going to La' Spezia. A good victory, but the boys must not start flying. Good Game Boys.

Starting Afresh
Team Name: La' Spezia
CFL SEASON 1
Being the underdogs of the competition, D-Boyz(Fomer Name), won the 1st runner up position. It was a fantastic season since it was a first time experience in playing in a league for the latter. Squad filled with young players, managed to pull of an extraordinary season.
CFL SEASON 2
After the success of our first season, we were already regarded as Power Houses along side Galaticos, Kamikaze and EastBoys. It was a disappointing season for us as we came in 4th behind CHAMPIONS Kamikaze, 1ST RUNNER-UP EastBoys AND 2ND RUNNER-UP Galaticos. Our expectations from the beginning of the season was to be in the top 2. Due to commitment level, attendance and complacency, D-Boys(Former Name) saw themselves pushed down by other 3 Power Houses.

Starting afresh, the name D-Boys was changed to La' Spezia. Although the season is yet to start, our plans and goals are already set. Firstly, be in the top 2.
